Coworkers vs. Crisis #3 – Maja Gojtowska

Maja Gojtowska is our member at HubHub Nowogrodzka in Warsaw. She is an expert in the modern approach to building candidate experience. She advises and supports companies like Coca Cola, Orange or Asseco in developing their image and communication strategies for over 12 years. She co-created and implemented several HR-related campaigns in the field of external, internal communication and employer branding. How did the crisis affect HR? 

 

What do you do?
I am a trainer and a consultant supporting companies in designing HR processes in the area of employer branding and internal communication. This is also what my blog is about.

How did the current crisis affect your business?
The biggest challenge during the crisis was and still is the organization of work. Especially balancing my professional work with taking care of my two kids in preschool age (due to the closing of care facilities – nursery and kindergartens). Their presence strongly influenced my working hours and my availability for clients. But after almost three months, I think I can say that we survived somehow; me, my kids as well as my business.

How did you adapt to the situation?
My blog publishing plan has changed drastically – within four weeks, a dozen or so texts appeared on it, taking on very current topics which until now have been difficult to find on the web. I analyzed the activities of employers during the COVID-19 pandemic, showed good practices, educated on how to conduct remote recruitment processes, and remote onboarding. I also devoted a lot of time to the topic of parting with employees. I switched to conducting online trainings. I also ran a lot of webinars.

How did you help your clients adapt?
From messages from them, I know that continuous education was a huge support – showing good practices from the market and recommending how the process in the new reality may look.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned?
The crisis reminded me that… change is the only certain thing in life.

What are your goals for the future?
Undoubtedly, a strategic approach to building a portfolio of online services.

Is there anything you can help other HubHub members with?
I would be more than happy to help in activities related to building a personal brand online, especially on Linkedin, but also to organize or design all processes related to the experience of candidates and employees.
