Coworkers vs. Crisis #2 – Andrew from Techloop
Another chapter of HubHub's deeper coworking look into the coronavirus crisis! Our series Coworkers vs. Crisis reveals business insights from HubHub members, this time with Andrew Elliott from Techloop!
Andrew Elliott is a member of Prague’s coworking space HubHub Na Prikope 14. He is also a CEO & Co-founder of Techloop, the biggest IT sourcing platform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Techloop’s data-based system enables perfect matchmaking to connect people and businesses through relevant job offers posted on their platform, saving their clients time and costs for hiring. Let’s take a look into IT sourcing business vs. current crisis.
How did the current crisis affect your business?
Our business has been affected as the hiring needs for many companies have slowed down. Luckily, IT hiring has seen a decrease by 25% on Techloop and we believe there will still be companies in need of hiring IT specialists further, as digitalization is becoming the core for every business.
How did you adapt to this situation?
We have recently changed Techloop to become an open marketplace, allowing both registered and non-registered users to take advantage of finding a new job through Techloop. Just a couple weeks ago we launched jobs.techloop.io.
Your key learning point?
Focus on core things for the business, do not get distracted by anything else. “Energy and persistence conquer all things.” – Benjamin Franklin
What are you struggling with the most?
Ability to provide more remote jobs or projects for our IT specialists.
How can you help other coworkers in HubHub?
We can help with providing best practises in hiring for IT, provide data on how the recent recession has impacted numbers of actively looking IT specialists, or simply help you hire in IT :).
What is the advice you would give to all companies struggling in this situation?
No matter what’s happening, keep focus on the core of the business!
